From the CD Higher Ground
I woke up and fell out of the bed, bad thoughts going through my head. I needed an attitude adjustment quick. Broke the coffee pot. There goes the caffeine. No time to figure out the waking dream. I just knew what I was wading in was thick. I didn’t know what to do. Stopped to sing a simple HU, and the message that came through was this: If love can find me, and if love will come. If love will shine on me, I will welcome it; try to welcome it with open arms. I went to work; got stuck in a traffic jam. I did my best to try and rush on in. But my boss, you know he looked at me with a frown. He motioned me to move toward his office door. I walk slow, don’t know what’s in store. He says to me don’t even bother sitting down. I didn’t know what to do. Stopped to sing a simple HU, and the message that came through was this: If love can find me, and if love will come. If love will shine on me, I will welcome it; try to welcome it with open arms. I headed home completely in a daze. Reviewed the morning, it all seemed so crazy. I didn’t know if I should break down, cry or scream. I turned around, thought I heard a car horn. It sounded familiar, just like my alarm. I awoke and I was so glad that this was a dream. Then I knew just what to do. Sat up and sang a simple HU, and the message that came through was this: I knew love had found me. I knew love had come. I knew love had shown me. I had welcomed it. I welcomed it with open arms. Oh yes, love will find me, and love it comes, and love it shines on me. I can welcome it, try to welcome it with open arms.
