Janie Worm
From the CD The Journey
Sometimes only a friend can understand where you are and where you’ve been. And sometimes only a friend can know how you feel deep, down in your soul. So friend, you can lean on me anytime you need to ‘cause friend, I believe in you. You’re dear to me and I’m here for you. How many times have you looked for one to turn to, but to whom you did not know? And how many times have you wanted to just run away, but knew not where to go? Well, friend, you can lean on me anytime you need to because friend, I believe, I believe in you. You’re here for me, and I’m here for you. Now things aren’t always easy in life as we terry down the road. Things happen every day, but please remember you’re not in this world alone. And friend, you can lean on me anytime you need to ‘cause friend, I believe you. You’re dear to me and I’m here for you. Yes I said, friend, oh you can lean on me anytime you need to, ‘cause friend, I believe, I believe in you. You’re here for me, and I’m here for you.

Insider Notes

“Friend” is one of the first songs I wrote, and one of the few that my mother heard before she passed away. When I mustered up the courage to play it for her, I was delighted that she liked it. In my life, friends come in many forms, and they are each one different. But they are almost always just what I need to find comfort, strength, encouragement, resolution…  Friends sometimes feel like angels incarnate that show up and lend a hand when I can use a little support. To friendships everywhere, I salute you with love and appreciation whether human, animal or otherwise!
